Discover Manitoba
Manitoba is the most easterly prairie province in Canada.
For more than 6000 years, Manitoba has been the home to Aboriginal and Métis
people for over 6000 years, who to this day continue to hold tremendous
cultural influence over the area.
Manitoba is a nature lover’s dream – home to polar bears,
beluga whales, sparkling lakes, pristine rivers, alpine forests, rugged
mountain peaks, and two national parks.
The Capital of Manitoba is Winnipeg, one of the most
culturally diverse cities in Canada with over 100 languages spoken. One
of the most visited towns in Manitoba is Churchill, where people flock from
around the world to see the polar bears, Churchill is also one of the top three
places in the world where you can observe the aurora borealis, otherwise known
as the Northern lights. Visit Riding Mountain and Wapusk national
parks, with their exceptional scenery, abundant wildlife, and opportunities for
camping, hiking, and kayaking.
Highlights of Manitoba’s social calendar include the Manito
Ahbee Festival in Winnipeg, which celebrates Indigenous arts, music, and
culture; and the legendary Manitoba Stampede, one of Canada’s most celebrated
rodeos, held in the small and hospitable town of Morris.
